I am a Perth maternity photographer, and I am so happy you have found me. I can help you celebrate and capture your journey into motherhood with magical and unforgettable pregnancy photos. It truly is one of the most special times in your life, which I fully understand, having birthed two beautiful girls who are growing up way too quickly.

Why Lesmurdie Falls Is One of My Favourite Perth Maternity Photography Locations


Lesmurdie Falls sits in the Perth Hills, within Mundy Regional Park, about a 20–25 minute drive from the CBD. There are 3 car parks all accessing different parts of the park, and there are so many beautiful and varied spots within easy walking distance from each car park. No 2 sessions ever looks the same. From cliff top lookouts with city views to the many forrested spots I know. Each session is unique but embraces the light and location to create magic.


Best Time of Year for the Falls


Every season at the falls is different and special in it's own way and of course your session depends on when you are pregnant, I do love spring when the wildflowers are out, but I love summer too when the grass has browned and turned golden. Winter brings stunning greenery and pretty white flowers. So don't worry, every season is as beautiful as the next and I will use each session in a special way to make the most of what is on offer.


Best Time of Day - Golden Hour!

Obviously my favourite time is sunset, ideally an hour before the sun is due to go down. When the warm, low light slips between the trees and creates a magical glow.

When to Book Your Maternity Session


The best time to book your Perth maternity session is early in your pregnancy and plan to have the shoot when you are about 32–36 weeks into your pregnancy, so we capture your growing bump before any swelling and general discomfort sets in and, of course, in case baby decides to make an early entrance. This happens more often than you think! If you're feeling particularly uncomfortable, it's quite acceptable to have your maternity photos earlier than 32 weeks. I just love your bump to be showing nicely.


What Happens at a Maternity Photo Shoot

As a Perth maternity photographer, I make sure sessions are fun and relaxed, filled with reflection, and moments of wonder, joy, and bonding.


  • You're welcome to include your partner, family, and any other children you have.
  • I can suggest a range of locations for your maternity photoshoot. Lesmurdie Falls is just one of my favourites , or you're welcome to choose your favourite spot.
  • Sessions take approximately an hour, with time for 2–3 outfit changes.
  • You can count on me to help you every step of the way, from planning through to your final gallery.

Is Lesmurdie Falls good for a maternity photoshoot?

Yes! it's one of the best maternity photography locations in Perth, thanks to its dramatic waterfall, forest, and lookout views over the City. There are toilet facilities at the lower carpark and it is dog friendly


What week of pregnancy should I book my maternity session for? Around 32–36 weeks is ideal, though earlier is completely fine if you're feeling uncomfortable.


Do I need to bring my own outfit?

No. A full client wardrobe of gowns, dresses, and robes is included at no extra charge. However, of course you are welcome to bring your own. I've created a whole post on how to prepare for your maternity session HERE


Is there a lot of walking involved at Lesmurdie Falls? Some light walking on established trails and platforms is required, so comfortable footwear is recommended for the walk in and out.


Can I bring my partner or other children?

Absolutely and they Should be! You're welcome to include your partner, family, and any other children as part of the session.
